Objective & Goals

Objective: To create 3 different redesigns for one of Mercer’s best-selling products that has undergone a bit of a revamp – new name, new position and they feel that the standard imercer.com product page template just doesn't work for the new content anymore. Because of that, Mercer wanted 3 new looks based on an attached copy, in a design that could be laid out/designed to be cohesive with the rest of the main website but better work with the content.

The Approach

When redesigning a webpage, sticking to current themes is crucial as it helps maintain relevance and appeal to contemporary users. It ensures the website stays competitive in an ever-evolving digital landscape, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction. By adopting current design trends, iMercer can effectively communicate their brand message and attract a broader audience.

What I Learned…

Creating designs for an already existing website is an enriching experience that teaches various lessons and insights. Here are some key takeaways:

  1. Designing an existing company's brand webpage requires a thorough understanding of the brand identity, including its values, target audience, and market positioning.

  2. It involves integrating consistent visual elements such as colors, fonts, and imagery that align with the brand's guidelines to maintain brand recognition and cohesion.

  3. User experience considerations are paramount, ensuring the website is intuitive, accessible across devices, and optimally structured to guide users towards desired actions, ultimately enhancing conversion rates.

In summary, the experience of redesigning an existing webpage provided me with a better understanding how how important core company values are and learning how to design within a theme that I had to adapt to.
